Since 1997 Healthfinder has been a most valued resource for reliable
health information on the Internet. Their senior’s health
page on the Just for You section helps visitors explore information
about Alzheimer’s disease, independent living, and Medicare.
There are three search options: Alphabetical listings, keyword search,

Medem™
Medem “has created the nation’s premier physician-patient
communications network” representing more than 45 medical
societies covering more than two-thirds of the medical professionals
practicing in the U.S. A sampling of topics for seniors in the Medem’s
Medical Library include care giving, arthritis, and mental health
issues.
Aetna
InteliHealth
The senior page at Aetna InteliHealth invites visitors to research
information targeted to aging healthcare concerns. Recent feature
articles are include a focus on hearing tests, and the science of
gray hair, along with information about age discrimination and methods
of prevention and care.
Food
and Drug Administration
This website provides information on the FDA Publications concerning
senior health issues, while also discussing food safety for seniors.
Links to other organizations featuring news and information for

AARP
The American Association for Retired Persons (AARP) is “a
nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50
and over. AARP is dedicated to enhancing quality of life for all.”
The site is one of the most comprehensive available related to senior
health and includes information on the AARP’s medication discount
drug plan. The AARP provides an email newsletter covering healthy
tips on exercise, eating right, and personal care.
Senior
Navigator
A site dedicated to healthy senior living, SeniorNavigator provides
“free information about the health and aging resources available
to Virginians.” Each visitor can search for local health care
services by entering his/her zip code and can monitor healthcare
issues that concern each individual by creating a personal profile
of available information. Visitors must register to ask for more
information specialized to their health concerns. This service is
free to any user of the site. A community calendar is also available
for viewing educational programs, special events, and health fairs
within each area of Virginia.
